Politicians and Our Political Process (2012-2016)

So much is wrong with our political process, it’s hard to know where to begin. The problems start with the Constitution. What did the founders mean when they wrote it? Originalists interpret it strictly, while others feel it is open to interpretation. Then there is gerrymandering, voter I.D. laws, gun control, the Electoral College, lobbyists, and dark money.

The very people who could fix these issues, our legislators, often like the status quo as long as it suits their own purposes. Politicians want to retain their privileges and jobs, ensuring the system works best for them. How does this serve the American people?
